Formen und Farbigkeit der fragilen Papierobjekte von Alexandra Deutsch wie auch ihrer Monotypien entstammen organischen und anorganischen Welten, erinnern an exotische Pflanzen, Fossilien oder Gesteinsformationen. Inspiriert sind sie von Aufenthalten in der Mauretanischen Wüste und sind doch abstrakt, sprechen eine eigene Formensprache. Objekte von raumgreifender Plastizität wachsen an den Wänden entlang. Ihre Oberflächen sind durch Lamellen oder Faltungen strukturiert,Tentakeln und Linien dehnen sich in den Raum aus. Mit schwach gebundenen Pigmenten bemalt, haben sie eine stark leuchtende Farbigkeit und lassen einen Eintauchen in eine ferne Welt. Alexandra Deutsch (*1968 in Karlsruhe) lebt und arbeitet in Wiesbaden.
The forms and colours of Alexandra Deutsch’s fragile paper objects and monotypes derive from organic and inorganic worlds, reminding us of exotic plants, fossils or rock formations. They are inspired by stays in the Mauritanian desert, yet they are abstract, speaking a formal language of their own. Objects of expansive plasticity grow along the walls. Their surfaces are structured by slats or folds; tentacles and l ines extend into space. Painted with weakly bound pigments, they have a strongly luminous colorfulness and allow you to immerse yourself in a faraway world. Alexandra Deutsch (born 1968 in Karlsruhe/Germany) lives and works in Wiesbaden/Germany.
