Annette Meincke-Nagy’s oversized heads, her busts and full figures touch, make the viewer pause. They radiate something enchanted, dreamy, introverted and thus a quiet power. Resting completely within themselves, they seem to be in another reality and yet show a strong presence. The sculptures are made of a paper-quartz-glue mixture. On a wire frame, they grow layer by layer in a lengthy, meditative process.

The interaction of compact and transparent areas of color, of broad and narrow brushstrokes, opens up mysterious pictorial spaces of great depth in Esther Naused’s ink paintings. Views and reflections, open and closed spaces, glistening light and dark shadows appear. Sometimes her works are reduced and light, sometimes very complex due to shading, overlapping and penetration. But the radiant light always draws the eye into the depths of the pictorial space, creating a very special atmosphere.

Reinhard Wöllmer’s objects made of dyed papier mâché are characterised by geometric precision and pure colours. They are circular, hollow volumes consisting of curved discs, to which structure is lent using edges, lines or holes. Reinhard Wöllmer applies the papier mâché to a support, rolls it out, and then works each disc until it curves. The objects exhibit a velvety surface peculiar to the paper and a clear geometric form and structure, so emphasizing their proximity to the constructive.
